The picturesque Sylamore Scenic Byway passes through the white oak-hickory forests and stands of shortleaf pines found in the Ozark National Forest. The winding route offers views of limestone cliffs and mountain vistas. At its southern end, Blanchard Springs Caverns is open for tours; and pioneer mountain life comes alive in demonstrations of crafts, skills and folk music and dance at the Ozark Folk Center State Park.

ROUTE: Begins on Ark. 5 as it enters the Ozark National Forest just south of Calico Rock, travels Ark. 5 to Allison, then west on Ark. 14, then north on U.S. Forest Service Road 1110.

LENGTH: 26.5 miles.

THINGS TO KNOW: Shopping, lodging and dining are available in Calico Rock and Mountain View. Camping is available at the Blanchard Springs, Gunner Pool and Barkshed recreational areas in the Ozark National Forest
