Potlatch Conservation Education Center At Cook’s Lake

In one of America’s largest tracts of bottomland hardwood forest, the center is a joint venture with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It is housed in the historic Lion Oil Company Historic Lodge, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A classroom is used for school field trips and teacher training. Staff includes experts who teach compass and map reading, water quality testing, natural history and other programs.
