Cossatot River

The Cossatot River begins in the Ouachita Mountains south of Mena in western Arkansas. Flowing southward, it passes through the Cossatot River State Park/Natural Area, which preserves a 12-mile stretch of the stream that includes the much-photographed Cossatot Falls area.

Mount Magazine State Park

At the peak of the state park experience is Mount Magazine, Arkansas’s highest point at 2,753 feet. People come for the sweeping views alone, but there is much to see and do from this unique spot. Mount Magazine State Park is a place of relaxation, exploration, nature study, and is within the Ozark-St. Francis National Forests.

Beaver Lake

Albert Pike Recreation Area – Window Rock

Nestled in the forested splendor of the rugged Ouachita Mountains, this recreation area is in the southern portion of the national forest. Hike the Eagle Rock Loop Trail to Window Rock or experience the excitement of a canoe trip on the Little Missouri River.
