Familiarization Tours 

Tourism-bureau-and-destination-sponsored familiarization trips help operators get to know an unfamiliar area.  Setting up familiarization or fam tours that meet a busload of operators' needs, however, can be tricky.  Some operators serve particular niches and pre-formed groups with specific ideas and interests to consider. Others cater to individual travelers and look for destinations with appeal to a broad audience. And time is another issue when it comes to planning fam tours. For a tour guide operator or travel agent, fams are usually best during the slow season, but not all operators have the same slow season.

Group Travel staff can give suggestions and work with your convention and visitors bureau to set up tour guide and travel agent fams upon request.

Inquiry Fulfillment and Lead Generation

Group Travel sales leads come from the Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer campaigns of advertising budgets that run from July 1 through June 30 annually. Travel lead generation also comes from the Arkansas tourism website and trade shows. Owners and sales divisions of hotel/motels, restaurants, and attractions may login to the Group Travel Leads System and access the inquiries of motorcoach owners, tour operators and leaders, meeting and reunion planners, and motorcycle enthusiasts for travel lead generation. The weekly travel sales leads are sent electronically every Sunday, if leads have been received that that particular week. Promotional Services

The Group Travel Section can provide the group tour operators, meeting & reunion planners with promotional items to promote their upcoming tour or meeting. Travel promotional items available are the current Arkansas Tour Guide, Arkansas State Parks Guide, seasonal Calendar of Events, Adventure Guide and numerous brochures of niche markets or regions of the state that the organization may be interested in promoting.

DVDs for a motorcoach tour through Arkansas are available in addition to videos of promoting motorcycle riding in The Natural State.
