Arkansas Rock 'N' Roll Highway 67 Marker – Imperial Theater

The Imperial Theatre, on North Marr Street in Pocahontas, was built in 1941 on the original Highway 67. This historic movie theater often had live performances. Two Pocahontas born and raised musicians who are nationally/internationally recognized in the music industry, Gary Gazaway and Robert Bowlin, both performed here. In the early 2000s the building became the home of the Randolph Music Theatre and hosted many rock, country, bluegrass, gospel and rock and roll groups, adding to memories of great music along the Rock ‘N’ Roll Highway 67. The theatre is currently home of the Downtown Playhouse, a venue for performing arts.
