Things to do in Russellville

Russellville provides 23 parks, soccer and baseball complexes, a skateboard park, memorial parks with pavilions and two 18-hole championship caliber disc golf course at scenic Old Post Park. 

Visual arts are featured at the Arkansas River Valley Arts Center and the Arkansas River Visitor Center interprets the river’s development from when American Indians were the only inhabitants in the area through present time. 

There’s plenty of urban fun from quaint shops in the historic downtown district to “big box” retail stores.

Outdoor sanctuaries include the Bona Dea Trails and Sanctuary, which features 186 acres of wetlands and wood lowlands that provide the perfect habitat for 200 species of birds. It has 5.5 miles of trails. The Old Post Mountain Bike Trail, on the U.S. Department of the Interior National Recreation Trails registry, offers rolling contour single track for all skill levels.

Lake Dardanelle State Park contains two separate locations on the 34,000-acre Lake Dardanelle. This park and lake are popular for camping and fishing. It has a campground, swim beach, barrier-free playground, and lakeside visitor center with four aquariums and interpretive exhibits. Within a short drive are three mountain state parks - Mount Nebo, Mount Magazine and Petit Jean - that are great for a day trip from Russellville.
