Things to do in Sherwood

In Sherwood you can see the historic Roundtop Filling Station. This unique structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The historic building was manufactured in 1936 by Justin Matthews Company for the Pierce Oil Company. Pierce Oil was one of the “baby Standards” formed after the U.S. Government’s breakup of John D. Rockefeller’s Standard Oil Company in 1911.

A multi-use facility, aptly named Sherwood Forest, is available for special events. Also in the complex are an outdoor pavilion, a playground, horseshoes, and basketball court.

Community parks where you can fish and do other outdoor activities as well as other various recreational facilities are also found in Sherwood including fitness trails, outdoor pools, an 8,000 square foot splash pad, the Henson Tennis Center, the Greens at North Hills, a historic golf course that first opened in 1926 that was redesigned in the 1970s by famed golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Sr, and more.

Sherwood also has a new Skyscraper Entertainment District, which is where the city’s first commissioned mural is located, and more.
