We are steadily rising on the Lake. Current elevation is 480.7 (normal pool is 461.44). The predicted crest (with last night's rainfall) is 481.2. The top of our flood control pool is 487. Additional rains will push the pool higher. Our Reservoir Control folks are watching all the reservoirs very closely. Currently, 491 (40%) of the campsites on Greers Ferry Lake are unavailable for use. As the lake continues to rise, additional campsites will be unavailable.
Many of the marinas are having difficulty providing access to the docks. Some marinas are having to provide shuttles to some of their docks, simply because they do not have enough walkways to reach all their docks. Most all of the marinas are experiencing parking problems (not enough available on higher ground).
The levees appear to be in good condition right now (Greers Ferry personnel and local officials patrolled the Massey/Alexander "Jacksonport", Newport and Village Creek/Mayberry Levees over the weekend).

WEATHER DISCUSSION
A very active pattern is evolving across the central third of the US for the middle of the week. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be moving into the region early this morning and will remain in the area through tonight; some severe weather is possible with the day's activity. Rainfall amount on the order of .25-.50" are expected for today, with up to 1.00" in isolated locations, through tonight. Lingering showers and thunderstorms are possible early tomorrow, with a few stray showers last into the afternoon. Chances then improve again for the overnight hours. Additional amounts of .25-.50" are expected but coverage should be more scattered for tomorrow/tomorrow night. Heaviest rain of the next few days will come Thursday. A line of showers and thunderstorms will drop heavy rain across all basins during the daylight hours Thursday. Rainfall amounts of 1-2" are possible, isolated amounts up to 3", with best chance for higher amounts to the north.
